Over the past eighteen months or so I've been drawing portraits of people using symbols of tree houses, trees, and animals. I ask myself "who is this person?", and I get answers in the form of images, or specific details about them jumping from my memory, which I turn into a sketch with a few wise words. Then I ask myself “what would be the opposite?“ And I do a companion drawing.
Putting this portfolio together I’ve decided to take a fresh approach. Why not write little fables instead of wise words? I got inspired by this one from Dallas Clayton about a lazy dog.
So far I have a collection of twelve “pairs” (or twenty-four fables), which I'll post here. Hope you like them! Check back often as I add new ones.
